Our brief for this rustic farmhouse was to create a weekend home for a large joint family, which can take the family back to their ancestral house from their village.

The mantra for this farmhouse is “back-to-roots” and “sustainable.” It has been designed keeping in mind traditional principles of architecture, ensuring that the timeless design is also energy efficient.

All rooms of the farmhouse open up to the large open-to-sky porch which takes the centre-stage. This gives the family members privacy as well as a beautiful common space for the entire family to gather under the stars, surrounded by greens.

The doors and pillars have been designed in-house and created on-site using _____ wood.

We made use of local and sustainable materials like kota flooring and paved-tile roofing to bring home the ancestral home.
